With the announcement of existence of Alphabet, in Google’s official blog, Google co-founder Larry Page also shown interest in life science. He wrote: “Alphabet is mostly a collection of companies. The largest of which, of course, is Google. This newer Google is a bit slimmed down, with the companies that are pretty far afield of our main Internet products contained in Alphabet instead. What do we mean by far afield? Good examples are our health efforts: Life Sciences (that works on the glucose-sensing contact lens), and Calico (focused on longevity).”

But, these new innovative lenses can help patients check their sugar levels regularly, simply by putting them on, with a tear. Tiny chips and sensors embedded between the two layers of a lens can measure glucose level with higher accuracy.
